Chandigarh Housing Board slum rehabilitation scheme

To ensure that the slum dwellers rehabilitated under the rehabilitation project are made a part of society, the Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) has decided to build one and two-room houses under the General Self-Financing Housing Scheme in proximity to the eight rehabilitation sites. Under the slum rehabilitation scheme, the CHB is building 25,728 flats on a land of 356 acres in eight different locations in the city. The sites for the project include Sector 49 (1,024 units), Sector 38- West (1,120 units), Ram Darbar (576 units), Maloya II (3,648 units), Mauli Jagran-I (320 units), Mauli Jagran-II (1,696 units), Dhanas (8,448 units) and Maloya-I (8,896 units)
