Development push for Mohali

Taking development of Mohali city one step further, deputy chief minister Sukhbir Badal held a meeting in which projects worth Rs 2,200 crore were discussed. He also fixed deadline for different projects.

Deputy chief minister visited Mohali and rolled out the developmental process by holding series of meetings with officials from various departments. Decision to start city bus service besides radio cabs and taxi service in Mohali was also taken in the Saturday meeting.

Badal said that all roads in Mohali should be properly illuminated with LED lights besides having signage, reflectors, cat eyes and illuminated dividers.

In the meeting, issue regarding laying sewerage lines beside maintenance of green belts, parks and roundabouts were also discussed. GMADA was also asked to expedite four-laning and six-laning of all inter-sector roads including road from Balongi to PCL Chowk, Franco Hotel road between Phase I and Phase II, road from Phase VI to Franco, UT boundary road to Diplast chowk, PCL chowk to Kumbra Chowk and inter-sector road passing opposite the markets of Phase-3B1, Phase-VII and Phase-V.

It was also decided to extend the Aerocity road till Ambala highway to give proper connectivity to Mohali International Airport from Haryana side and to expedite work on Mullanpur road.
