In another major relief to real estate developers in Punjab government has allowed the grant of Change of Land Use (CLU) at the local level instead of the state level, at which they were issued so far leading to much delays and a cumbersome procedure. Chief Minister gave in-principle approval to the proposal submitted by the department to simplify and curtail the procedure for grant of CLU by delegating such powers to the Senior Town Planners (STPs) of the Department of Town and Country Planning.
The government has empowered STPs posted at Mohali and Chandigarh to grant the CLU of their respective areas. The decision will not only curtail the procedural delay for grant of CLUs but also boost development activities in the state.
