The last date of application for the 160 two-bedroom flats to be constructed by the Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) in Sector 51-A has been extended till January 24.(it was supposed to end on January 13).
Approximately 2,800 people have applied for the scheme. This is 17 times the total number of flats available.
The draw of lots for CHB’s Self-Financing Housing Scheme is expected to be held in April. Under the scheme, there are two categories of applicants. In Group A, flats on the ground floor are priced at Rs 50.65 lakh each and those on the upper floors cost Rs 47.39 lakh each. For Group B, the CHB has offered a new system of assured allotment of 16 two-bedroom flats. Sealed bids will be taken for these flats against a reserve price of Rs 50.65 lakh. The Board will calculate the average of the top 16 bids and the bidders will be given the flats at the average calculated price.
