Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) dispatched letters of intent to nearly 3,800 successful applicants for Aerocity housing project. This comes nearly four months after the real estate development agency conducted the draw of lots for different categories and sizes of plots.
GMADA cancelled allotment of around 50 plots in reserved category as applicants for the plots had failed to submit original documents despite being served several notices. The successful candidates would start receiving their letters of intent within this month. The letters are being sent through registered post to the mailing address provided by the successful applicants. However some successful candidates under general category have not given their undertaking and their plots allotment can be cancelled.
Out of 4,000 plots, GMADA had reserved plots under various categories, like SC/ST (15%), handicapped or blind (3%), freedom fighters (2%), serving or retired defence personnel (4%), disabled soldiers (1%), gallantry awardees (2%), legal heir of army or paramilitary or Punjab police personnel killed in action (2%) and sports medal winners (2%). Physically handicapped applicants were given five per cent rebate.
