Tata Group, is now going all out to cheer up farmers in Chandigarh and set new benchmarks in land prices by offering a whopping Rs 2.5 crore per acre for 50 acres of land on the city's periphery. This project will called as 'Camleot' and will be at North End of Sukhna Lake
The deal has sent alarm bells ringing in the Union Territory administration which has paid a paltry Rs 18 lakh per acre to farmers in Manimajra for the proposed third phase of Rajiv Gandhi Chandigarh Technology Park.
The farmers have been up in arms demanding better compensation for the land on the lines of adjoining Punjab. Tatas have already got land registered in Lahora and Palsora areas for a group housing project.
