Work on Aerocity, 200-feet-wide road, gets going

Work on Greater Mohali Area Development Authority’s (GMADA’s) much-hyped first urban estate Aerocity, a 200-feet-wide road from railway under bridge (RUB) junction Sector 66-66-A to Chhat village on Zirakpur-Patiala National Highway-64 has started. The work to construct around 8.5-km-long road has already been awarded to a Mumbai-Bhubaneswar-based Niraj Cement Structures Limited ans ARSS Infrastructure Projects Limited Joint Venture Company (JVC), which will complete the work within 18 months.

The four-lane road, with service lanes and outfall sewer on both sides besides a high-level-bridge, will create a direct link between Mohali and Zirakpur-Patiala highway, crisscrossing through Aerocity strategically located very close to the upcoming international airport yet does not falling in the flight path, making it the most sought after residential destination at Rs 12,000 per square yard (Rs 3 lakh per marla), which was nearly three times less than prevailing market price in Mohali.
