Aerocity: Looses premium in Market

There are no takers for re-sale plots in the Aerocity scheme, which at the time of draw of lots, had paid high dividends to the original allottees.
With Mullanpur emerging as the next hot spot, the Aerocity has lost interest and investors are now focusing on areas close to Chandigarh’s PGIMER.

Several original allottees or even those, who had bought plots in re-sale expecting higher returns in Aerocity, will now have to pay up instalment called for by GMADA in the absence of any potential buyers for their once much-sought after plots, he added.

Ever since Mullanpur started offering housing schemes, Aerocity’s bubble had burst. Neither the investors nor the actual buyers seem interested in retaining Aerocity property. This is the same Aerocity scheme, which at the time of draw of lots in September-2010, had evoked premiums ranging between Rs 5-10 lakh per marla for the plots allotted at reserve price of Rs 3 lakh per marla.
