Making profits in CHB Sector-63 scheme

Of the total 2,080 allottees for the CHB’s Sector-63 scheme, almost 60 per cent have already sold off their flats

With the Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) failing to lay a single brick, where flats were to come up under some recently-floated schemes, the alottees are making the most of the delay. On the basis of the allotment letters issued to them, they are already selling off their flats.

Out of the total 2,080 allottees of the CHB’s self-financing scheme in Sector 63, almost 60 per cent have sold off their flats. They had paid only 10 per cent of the price of the flats, as fixed by the board.

Under this scheme, while a top floor two-bedroom flat priced at Rs. 29.14 lakh is drawing a premium between Rs. 23 and 25 lakh, a ground floor flat is being sold at a premium of Rs. 33 to 35 lakh.Several allottees are now buying houses in the periphery.
